ARASCO Foods − Successful Business Blueprint
In September 2015, Softproviding joined implementation partners ARETE Global and MTech-Systems in initiating the Business Blueprint phase for the ARASCO Foods division. Six months later, the project team can look back on a job well done.
Based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, ARASCO is a food company that specializes in tapping into sustainable food sources in the Middle East and Saudi Arabia and is able to cover the entire food supply chain thanks to focused integration of various areas of business − a from-feed-to-food company in the truest sense of the word. ARASCO Foods currently produces more than 43 million poultry every year and is aiming to significantly increase this amount. Its entaj product range alone covers 10% of the Saudi Arabian market.
As part of its ENSIAB program to switch the whole company over to SAP, ARASCO is now tackling the final part that is yet to make the change, the Foods division. The project has been supervised personally by the CEO of ARASCO Dr. Abdulmalik Alhusseini, with the help of ARASCO Foods President and project owner John Ross and ENSAIB program manager and CIO Shaya Alshakrah. It has been managed by Mohammed Alansari for ARASCO Foods and Mauricio Zupeuc as overall project manager for the implementation partners (Softproviding, ARETE, and MTech).
The Business Blueprint that was drawn up covers all departments and sites of the ARASCO Foods division: planning, procurement, slaughtering, disassembly, production, packing, marketing and sales, shipping, quality assurance and controlling, maintenance, finance and controlling, hatchery, breeding sites, production plants, freezing, and logistics.
Several meetings had to be held at various sites to analyze the processes in collaboration with the heads of the different departments. These produced a range of target requirements and potential solutions for mapping and optimizing the processes in an integrated system landscape.
Because of the integrative advantages all processes were to be implemented exclusively with SAP and Meat Management by Softproviding. This considerably reduced the complexity and number of interfaces, creating a whole range of additional benefits for customers: constant value and quantity flows, seamless origin tracking, consistent data, and expertise focused on a single solution.
The work produced by the individual teams was reviewed and confirmed in specially organized validation workshops and was then approved by the steering committee, which comprised members such as CEO Dr. Abdulmalik Alhusseini and ARASCO Foods President John Ross.
The Softproviding staff who worked on the project are delighted that they will soon be able to get started on the implementation phase and work toward the go live with highly qualified colleagues in an interesting and extremely welcoming cultural environment. We will tell you more about it in a future newsletter.
