SAP Meat and Fish Management by msg – Release 6.2

The new release SAP Meat and Fish Management 6.2 by msg for SAP S/4HANA, which is based on SAP Release 2025, has been enhanced with a number of additional functions and tools. For customers interested in more detailed information, we recommend the current release documentation.

Integration with SAP Digital Manufacturing

DM packing units are now saved in PDA records and used in HU creation and HU Packing.

Disassembly

Customer-Specific Pricing Logic

You can now override pricing in cut lists using up to 5 customer‑specific price sources, allowing the implementation of custom pricing strategies (e.g., average prices from multiple sources).

Push/Pull Calculation Optimization

Several improvements help optimize performance and planning accuracy:

  • Calculation statistics for better analysis of material calculations
  • Default calculation type definable per plant
  • Iteration-based calculations for more accurate multi‑cut scenarios

Reduced Reservation Volume

A new option allows the system to create one reservation per material, preventing issues when extremely large cut lists exceed SAP’s reservation limits.

Cycle-Based Production (Livestock Operations)

Cycle archiving

CBP cycles can now be archived using a new ILM‑capable archiving object. This supports long‑term data lifecycle management and helps reduce system load.

PP-PI external procedure

CBP now supports process orders through a new external procedure, enabling:

  • Automatic material selection
  • Quantity calculation
  • Process order creation
  • Lifecycle management through deletion/completion

This opens CBP workflows to additional industries and production requirements.

Origin Control

Bulk Change ID Handling

Users can now check and consolidate multiple change IDs at once—ideal for production environments where batches are mixed or merged.

Mixed Origin Support

For products like mixed minced meat, characteristics can now be shared across origin classes, allowing correct validation when multiple species/material origins are involved.

Inbound Delivery Integration

Inbound delivery batches can now be incorporated directly into Origin Control, ensuring correct batch characteristics are captured during goods receipt.

Closing Completed Change IDs

Users can now close change IDs to keep selection lists clean and avoid accidental use of completed IDs. Closed entries can also be reopened in the Control Tower if needed.

Traceability

Technical Redesign for Batch Tracing

Batch Where‑Used logic has been re‑engineered using an object‑oriented approach, improving future extensibility and performance.

S/4 Integration with Food 2.0 (BTP Cloud)

Customers using SAP Food 2.0 in BTP can now drive batch tracing in BMBC using cloud data, including new plant settings and OAuth 2.0 configuration options.

Process Data Acquisition

Handling Unit (HU) Quantity Check

New validation ensures sufficient HU quantity before goods issue, allowing customizable message types (Info / Warning / Error).

Reversal of PDA Records with Inspection Stock

PDA records for goods receipts into inspection stock can now be reversed directly and a new indicator Reverse Material Document has been introduced.

Create Change ID Before Goods Receipt

Users can now create the Change ID (and batch) before the first PDA posting—critical for labeling and downstream processes.

Automatic Re‑Packing of Handling Units

When HU creation fails (e.g., batch not yet available), the system will retry packing automatically via the PDA updater.

Data Processing System

Multi-Level BOM Support in Pull with BOM

Full multi-level BOM explosion is now supported for planning.

Price and Value Fields in Planning Cockpits

New fields (Price, Value, Currency, etc.) have been added to the following DPS cockpits:

  • Push
  • Pull
  • Pull with BOM

Shopfloor

Set New Tare

New button Set Tare to reset weight for next entry (useful for pallets, crates, E2 containers) has been added.

Editable QM Characteristics

Quantitative characteristic values can now be changed and saved.

Handling Unit Selection in Goods Issue

A new Sel.HU button to choose HUs with available stock has been added—batch, production date, and SLED are transferred automatically.

Production and SLED Information in RAF Inventory

Production date and SLED are now shown directly in inventory entry screens.

Density in PDA Entry

For materials with a volume-based second unit, users can now edit density and trigger automatic recalculation.
