SAP Dairy Management by msg – Release 2025

SAP Dairy Management by msg is the industry solution for advanced raw material planning, raw material and performance controlling and product costing in the dairy industry. It was specifically developed to track the value-bearing components of milk from receipt to the end product. The solution is part of the SAP Agribusiness product strategy and is also offered as a cloud product (SAP RISE).

The new release once again features a whole range of optimizations to meet the varied and constantly growing requirements of our global customers in the best possible way and also promises consolidation across the board.

Most of the improvements this time benefited the Dairy Basis area. Quantity Split has now been adapted so that fixed quantities or quotas can be defined for the production quantities and mixed costing can be created with the specific SAP CO variant. In addition, management of production processes and post-processing of documents have been optimized and the app has been expanded to include the posting of ingredients.

In response to widespread requests, a new app was developed to allow the settlement of costs for non-valued materials to one single cost center (e.g. material type ZMIL). Also, corresponding settlement rules can be stored.

New apps have also been delivered in the area of Quotations. They can be used to store quotations for seasonal BOMs.

There were few new features in Raw Materials Planning for this release. Optimization potential was mainly found in the Planned Raw Material Balance or in the simulation of purchasing/transfer/sales.

The same applies to the Dairy Yield, Profit and Loss, in which additional functions have been added to the Closing Cockpit.

The area of Activity-Based Costing has seen some substantial changes, such as in the management of cost center allocation and activity-based costing runs, the export and import of cost center allocations, the resolution of costs in production, the transfer of product costings and the posting of production costs.

As the area of Affinage was a major focus in the past, there were no notable innovations for this release.

As with every new release, please refer to the published Release Notes for a detailed explanation of the adjustments or corrections.

All in all, the 2025 edition of SAP Dairy Management by msg has been optimized in the right places. In short, it is more advanced and even more user-friendly than before.
