Driving Innovation in Dairy with MCP on SAP BTP

As part of our ongoing commitment to advancing cloud-based solutions, Softproviding—in close collaboration with our strategic partner SAP, with whom we are jointly defining the target architecture—is developing a dedicated Milk Collection and Payment (MCP) solution tailored for the dairy sector.

To ensure the MCP solution addresses the diverse needs of the global dairy industry, we are conducting requirements gathering with a worldwide customer base. This approach enables us to design a truly global solution that reflects best practices and real-world requirements from leading dairy companies across different regions.

The MCP solution is designed to strengthen the dairy industry with smart, cloud-based tools that promote transparency, efficiency, and sustainability throughout the value chain. Importantly, MCP is built to operate seamlessly in both private and public cloud environments, ensuring flexible integration with existing IT landscapes and supporting hybrid scenarios. By leveraging SAP’s latest technology and collaborating directly with our customers, our goal is to provide solutions that meet current demands and anticipate future challenges—supporting dairy businesses in their efforts to innovate, expand, and thrive in a constantly changing environment.

Core Architecture Components Under Development

Collection Cockpit

The Collection Cockpit will play a key role in providing a comprehensive overview of all milk collection activities. It allows planners and logistics teams to record detailed data for each farm pickup, including quantities and quality metrics, while performing automated consistency checks to ensure accuracy. Seamless integration with SAP standard purchasing functionalities supports end-to-end process visibility, efficient operations, and reliable data for settlement and compliance. This results in a transparent, streamlined, and error-resistant milk collection process.

Reception & Shipping Cockpit

The reception of milk and related intermediates is being streamlined to optimize quality control and maintain full traceability from farm to production facility. The system supports both reception and shipping operations and incorporates intuitive, step-by-step navigation. Role-specific user interfaces are under development for a range of reception activities, including check-in, data registration, unloading, cleaning, check-out, and driver self-service. In addition, the system will facilitate real-time data integration with MES and other connected applications.

Quality Management Cockpit

The Quality Management Cockpit is designed to capture and analyze quality data at every stage, supporting compliance, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

Settlement Management System

An industry-specific Settlement Cockpit is being developed to efficiently handle complex settlements including multi-party payments, quality-based pricing, and flexible cost allocation.

API Integration and Data Management

Comprehensive APIs are being developed to enable exchange of collection data, reception information, quality and settlement details with external systems, while customizable activities will support flexible business process adaptations.
