Käserei Champignon Hofmeister has been running SAP for many years. A project is currently underway to migrate fom the ECC solution to SAP S/4HANA. For the conversion of the business processes to S/4HANA, all processes had to be put to the test and, if necessary, redesigned.

One of the main focuses was put on tracing the milk back to the producer. In the past, milk collection was carried out using a subsystem. For this reason, the data leading all the way back to the producer was not available in SAP. One of the requirements for the new solution was that the complete traceability of the milk back to the producer had to be mapped in SAP.

The solution was Softproviding’s new Classified Procurement solution, which was developed with the ambition of integrating milk collection and billing into the S/4HANA system. It was decided to implement this requirement in cooperation with Softproviding.

The basic requirements were jointly defined in a discussion with the Käserei Champignon Hofmeister management, and the solution design created by Softproviding AG’s product management team was approved by CU. The design was then implemented in the Classified Procurement module. After a development period of a just few months, the first release was delivered in 2020.

The milk collection process includes the transfer of data from the collection truck and from external laboratories, such as Michprüfring, via the ADIS-ADED interface. Furthermore, it is necessary to transfer the shopfloor data of the milk reception at the plant, the creation of orders, deliveries, production orders as well as the logistical goods movements and intercompany processes. All processes are automated and run in the background.

The processes were extensively tested by the product management team in Käserei Champignon Hofmeister ‘s system, after which the users were trained to operate the functionality. Since 01.01.2021, the milk collection from Softproviding has been used productively in the first plant.
